at Creative Circle, LLC in Mettawa, Illinois, United States Job Description Editor Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Editor to lead high-quality editorial production across print and digital channels. This role combines hands-on editing with editorial strategy, quality assurance, and project management. The Editor will ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistent voice across content, develop and maintain editorial standards and style guides, manage content workflows in CMS platforms, and coordinate cross-functional teams including localization, production, and analytics to deliver content that meets audience and business objectives. Key Responsibilities Perform advanced copyediting, line editing, substantive and developmental editing to improve clarity, structure, tone, and flow while preserving author voice. Fact-check content for accuracy and completeness; verify citations and sources; ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements as applicable. Develop, maintain, and enforce editorial standards and style guides (AP, Chicago, and organization-specific) and provide style guidance to authors and contributors. Create and manage editorial calendars and production schedules; prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects to meet deadlines. Publish and manage content in Content Management Systems (WordPress, Drupal); prepare and validate XML, HTML, and Markdown assets for digital distribution. Optimize content for search (SEO) and keyword performance, using metadata best practices and analytics to guide decisions. Coordinate localization and translation workflows, working with translators and vendors to ensure accurate, culturally appropriate content. Prepare files for digital publishing and eBook formatting; manage pagination and layout using Adobe InDesign, Acrobat, and basic image preparation in Photoshop. Manage rights and permissions requests; track usage rights and ensure compliance with licensing terms. Oversee metadata management and indexing to improve discoverability, and maintain standards for tagging and taxonomy. Implement quality assurance processes, including copy QA, link checks, and pre-publication reviews. Collaborate with product, marketing, legal, and analytics teams to align content strategy with audience insights and business goals. Mentor and review work from junior editors, freelancers, and contributing authors; provide constructive feedback to raise editorial quality. Qualifications Document-Quality Check Good organizational and time management skills Strong communication, both oral and written Ability to innovate, analyze, understand customers' needs with minimal supervision Proficient with computer systems and/or pharmaceutical software Experience in a complex and matrix environment Experience in pharmaceutical industry preferred Past experience in prescription drug advertising/promotional labeling and/or promotional labeling submissions desired Knowledge of procedures and requirements regarding prescription drug advertising and promotional materials desired Proficient with computer systems and/or pharmaceutical software Science background is a plus In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data, including medical data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment. Additionally, drug products may be present in the workplace.
