Job Description

Print Shop Editor will work with clients on specific needs relating to the scanning, editing, and/or reproduction of fine art materials.
Specific needs include:
the scanning and compositing of art pieces for archiving, color matching prints to original artwork, printing and trimming of reproductions, adjusting exposure or altering colors of artwork, cropping/resizing files, restoration of old or damaged artwork/photos, and the preparation of printed materials for framing. Print Shop Editor will also be responsible for maintaining a working relationship with clients, keeping track of orders, deadlines, filing of completed projects and working with framers to ensure a smooth transition from printing to framing. Qualifications:
Applicant should:
  • Be proficient in Adobe Suite (mostly Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator)
  • Be proficient in editing and compositing images in Photoshop
  • Be proficient in the digital restoration process
  • Have a working knowledge of printing on both small and large format printers
  • Have a working knowledge of the technical aspects of printing (e.g. best practices, differences between Giclée, CMYK, RGB, etc.)
  • Have working knowledge of color and color theory
  • Have working knowledge of fine art and photography processes
  • Be familiar with the scanning of artwork on a flatbed scanner
  • Be familiar with fine art materials
  • Have a background in fine arts, design, or a technical field with a focus on art Applicant should be good at troubleshooting and problem solving, have an eye for detail, be open to criticism, and be willing to work collaboratively with clients.
