Verve, LLC is seeking an Editor to ensure the quality, consistency, and professional integrity of all project deliverables. This role serves as the final quality review for internal and client-facing materials, ensuring all documents are polished, accurate, and aligned with project standards, branding requirements, and applicable federal guidelines. The ideal candidate has strong editorial expertise and experience reviewing healthcare, public health, or government-related materials. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive editorial reviews of a wide range of deliverables, including reports, fact sheets, newsletters, technical toolkits, presentations, training materials, and other program documents. Review content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, formatting consistency, tone, accuracy, and overall readability. Oversee document structure and organization for complex, multi-author deliverables, including tables of contents, outlines, version control, and final compilation. Verify materials comply with federal requirements, including proper citations, copyright standards, and exclusion of unauthorized logos, advertising, or prohibited content. Perform readability reviews to ensure materials align with Plain Language Guidelines, target reading levels, and project-specific accessibility standards. Ensure consistency with project branding, style guides, formatting standards, typography, and visual identity requirements. Collaborate with writers, designers, and project teams to provide editorial feedback and support document refinement through multiple revision cycles. Conduct final quality assurance checks prior to client submission or publication.Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Technical Writing, Public Health, or related field preferred. 3+ years of professional editing, copyediting, or editorial review experience, preferably supporting healthcare, public health, or federal contracting projects. Strong knowledge of professional style guides, including AP, Chicago, or Government Printing Office (GPO) standards. Familiarity with federal Plain Writing Guidelines, readability standards, and document compliance requirements. Exceptional attention to detail, including formatting consistency, structural organization, and document quality control.
