Senior Social Content Editor Location:
West Coast (PST hours preferred)Schedule:
Full-time, 40 hours/week About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled, culturally fluent Senior Social Content Editor to support some of the most widely followed social channels. This is not just a role for someone who knows how to cut video — it is a role for someone with a sharp editorial POV. You will turn raw moments, product announcements, and cultural intersections into scroll-stopping content for some of the most-followed accounts on the internet. You must understand how to edit for massive scale, spot trends before they peak, and craft narratives that feel native. While the core of this role is post-production and editing, you should be comfortable capturing content on the ground when needed. Speed, discretion, and creative excellence are non-negotiable. What You'll Do- Lead Post-Production — Edit short-form social content (sizzle reels, product demos, cultural moments, behind-the-scenes) with a high degree of polish and fast turnaround
- Shape the Narrative — Bring a strong editorial POV to the table; help define the story, pacing, and tone to resonate with a massive global audience
- Trendspotting & Cultural Fluency — Continuously monitor social trends, audio, and internet culture to inform editing styles and content formats
- Platform-Native Adaptation — Tailor edits specifically for a variety of surfaces with a deep understanding of what performs on each
- Capture & Field Production — Step in to capture high-quality, mobile-first footage on the ground when necessary
- Cross-Functional Collaboration — Partner directly with creative producers, and Senior stakeholders with discretion and professionalism
- Visual Enhancement — Create light motion graphics, text overlays, and visual treatments that elevate the final product What You Bring
- 7+ years of experience in social content editing and creation, specifically for high-profile brands, public figures, or accounts with massive social engagement and followings
- Expert-level proficiency in Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and mobile editing tools (CapCut, etc.)
- A sharp, proven editorial POV — you know what makes a video hold attention, how to pace for social, and how to craft a narrative hook
- Deep immersion in internet culture and social trends
- Proven ability to shoot high-quality footage on a smartphone or mirrorless camera in fast-moving, uncontrolled environments
- Strong interpersonal skills and business acumen — comfortable navigating high-stakes environments alongside Senior leaders
- Self-starter mentality — you thrive in ambiguity, manage your own workflow, and deliver quality under tight deadlines Nice to Have
- Experience in political media, documentary work, or leading influencer content strategy
- Advanced animation or motion graphics skills Additional Skills & Qualifications Platform-Native Content Adaptation — Tailoring edits and formats for Instagram Reels, Threads, Facebook, and beyond with a clear understanding of what performs on each surface Mobile-First Capture — Ability to shoot high-quality, serviceable footage on a smartphone in fast-moving, uncontrolled environments when needed Executive Environment Professionalism — Operating with discretion, confidence, and strong interpersonal judgment in high-trust, high-stakes settings alongside Senior leaders Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Menlo Park, CA.
