Job Description
Seeking an experienced Senior Writer/Editor to join our Communications and Marketing team. This position plays a key role in supporting project teams with the development, finalization, and dissemination of high-quality written materials. The Senior Writer/Editor will lead the creation of research-informed resources, publications, training content, and multimedia materials that support culturally responsive, evidence-based practices. This is a fully REMOTE opportunity. Candidates MUST reside in California Responsibilities
- Lead development of written materials including publications, curricula, training content, and multimedia products
- Review, edit, and coordinate final approval of content for websites, newsletters, and social media
- Adapt and tailor content for various platforms in alignment with funder style guidelines
- Develop content for newsletters, announcements, and social media channels
- Format materials using platforms such as Loomly, Constant Contact, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint
- Review materials for accessibility and clarity
- Provide detailed feedback and copy edits on drafts
- Edit and refine training materials, including slide decks and talking points
- Collaborate with graphic design staff to finalize deliverables
- Support multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Perform additional duties as assigned Required Skills and Competencies
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to develop content for diverse audiences with varying backgrounds and literacy levels
- Strong ability to incorporate and apply feedback
- Experience creating newsletters and external communications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Expertise in writing and style guidelines, including APA and government standards
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in government, nonprofit, social services, mental health, or substance use sectors
- Grant writing experience
- Strong research and formatting skills Minimum Qualifications
- Advanced degree, postgraduate training, or equivalent experience required
