For more information visit our website at www.simonandschuster.com. Simon & Schuster seeks a Subsidiary Rights Assistant to join its team. This individual will report directly to the Vice President, Director of Children's Subsidiary Rights, and will support the Director and the rest of the Subsidiary Rights department. This position offers the opportunity to work on both foreign and domestic rights, as well as, to collaborate closely with other departments within the children's publishing group.
Key Responsibilities include:
Providing administrative support to Director and other department members. Responsible for negotiating and managing customer requests for electronic files and processing the file billing. Assist in the production of seasonal rights guides and the preparation required for various conferences and customer presentations. Support contract processing and maintain the department databases and files. Organize manuscripts and materials for both foreign & domestic submissions and support department colleagues. Candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication abilities, as well as, the capacity to multitask and exhibit self-motivation. Candidate must demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently. Computer proficiency is essential along with a solid understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. This is a hybrid opportunity, based out of our NYC office.
