Job Description

Blue Planet is seeking a Designer to manage the Soft Woven Tops & Bottoms category. This role requires a creative who can identify emerging trends, build commercially viable assortments, independently manage the development process from concept through final sample, in addition to being a part of a collaborative team environment. Responsibilities Design and develop seasonal assortments across soft woven tops, bottoms, jackets, and vests Research trends, competitive brands, silhouettes, color, and fabric direction Create seasonal concepts, CADs, colorways, and presentation materials Develop trend-right product aligned with the company's brands, customer SMU's, and business objectives Attend fittings and provide fit and construction comments Review development samples and communicate corrections to overseas vendors Partner closely with production, merchandising, and sales teams Maintain seasonal development calendars and milestone deadlines Support line reviews, and seasonal presentations
Travel:
some domestic and overseas and shopping trips as needed Qualifications 5+ years apparel design experience Strong experience in soft woven tops and bottoms in junior and YC markets Proven ability to independently manage category development Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, fabrication, and costing Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop Experience working with overseas factories Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills This is an in-office position
