Job Description

EWI Fabrication & Manufacturing/Catawba Attachments is a growing North Carolina-based manufacturing company specializing in structural steel fabrication, custom metal projects, farm equipment, skid steer attachments, truck beds, stairs, handrails, and production fabrication. We are looking for someone who thrives in a real-world fabrication environment and enjoys seeing projects move from concept to finished product. This position combines design, estimating, quoting, and hands-on collaboration with our production team. Responsibilities Create and modify 3D CAD models and fabrication drawings using SolidWorks Design components and assemblies for farm equipment, attachments, structural steel, and custom fabrication projects Generate production-ready drawings for laser cutting, bending, welding, and assembly Create bills of materials (BOMs), cut lists, and fabrication documentation Estimate large fabrication and structural steel projects for general contractors, including: Structural beams Miscellaneous steel Stairs and handrails Weldments and custom fabrication Review plans and determine material requirements, fabrication labor, and production processes Assist with customer quoting and project management Collaborate with welders, laser operators, brake press operators, and management to improve manufacturability and efficiency Answer technical questions related to fabricated products and farm equipment Assist with product development and continuous improvement initiatives Qualifications Experience using SolidWorks in a fabrication or manufacturing environment Understanding of fabrication processes including: Structural steel fabrication Laser cutting Press brake forming Welding and assembly Ability to read and interpret fabrication and structural drawings Experience estimating fabrication or structural steel projects is strongly preferred Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of farm equipment, skid steer attachments, or heavy equipment is a plus Preferred Experience Weldment and sheet metal design in SolidWorks Experience quoting work for general contractors Understanding of material pricing, fabrication workflows, and production scheduling Familiarity with CNC laser cutting and bending tolerances Experience working directly with shop personnel and production teams What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Opportunity to work on a wide range of custom and production projects Hands-on involvement in manufacturing and product development Stable, growing family-owned company Long-term growth opportunities within the organization
