Job Description

Komar, a global leader in the design, sourcing, manufacturing, and distribution of high-quality sleepwear, layering, and intimates is seeking a Freelance Technical Designer to join our team at our Jersey City, NJ Corporate office. The Technical Designer will be responsible for the proper technical design of bras, seamless and daywear from development through production, including time management of the fit process.
Job Responsibilities:
Ability to multitask and execute on all brand corrections while maintaining fit calendar. Support the development of proto samples with clear direction of design aesthetic, fit intent and sewing construction according to design sew-by-sample, pattern and BOM Help with the fit process; Evaluate fit and construction during each stage of the development cycle from concept to production. Maintain clear and detailed Tech Packs for each style/ brand with comments, photos, flat sketches, measurement and sewing changes. Track and manage workflow and ensure all calendar deadlines are met. Foster open communication in a cohesive team environment with all departments involved. Work with Komar Sourcing partners. Work closely with Designers, Sales and Tech team to ensure correct silhouette and fit aesthetic of products. Measure all samples prior fitting. Adhere to and update fit T&A. Request PP's (pre-production samples) and trim cards after fit approval. Enter grade rule into graded specs. Fit and approve
PP & TOP
samples with Design. Attend all Line in Progress meetings for each brand you are responsible for. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Qualifications:
5+ year of technical design experience, 3D experience is a plus. Proficiency in Excel and Word. Knowledge of foundations and the foundations fit process. Experience with live and form fit sessions. Ability to prepare tech packs with concise information, scans, images and details for overseas production.
