Job Description We are looking for a Freelance Assistant Sweater Designer a top fashion company in New York, New York. This role supports the design and development of womens and mens sweater/knitwear collections from concept through production. The designer will partner closely with merchandising, technical design, and production teams to deliver commercially viable product aligned with seasonal direction. Hourly pay rate up to $27.00 based on experience
Responsibilities:
Assisting with sweater design concepts (yarns, stitches, patterns, silhouettes) Creating technical flats and design sketches in Adobe Illustrator Supporting tech pack creation and sample development Participating in fittings, tracking revisions, and managing timelines Collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams and overseas vendors
Required Qualifications:
1+ years of experience in apparel design, preferably knitwear/sweaters Strong Adobe Illustrator skills (Photoshop and PLM a plus) Solid understanding of knitwear construction, yarns, and sampling Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines If you meet the required qualifications and are interested in this role, please apply today.
