Job Description
Overview We are a growing custom fabrication shop looking for a SolidWorks designer who wants full ownership of real-world projects—from customer concept through fabrication and delivery. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both design work and seeing their projects built on the shop floor. We build custom work using laser cutting, waterjet, press brake forming, welding, CNC fabrication, powder coating, and painting—no two jobs are the same. Responsibilities Own projects from start to finish: Customer site → field measurements → SolidWorks design → production release → shop floor follow-through → completion Take field measurements at customer sites Design in SolidWorks / CAD Create production-ready fabrication drawings Release and follow work through the shop floor Work with customers and shop teams Ensure jobs are built correctly and delivered on time Must have Strong SolidWorks experience (required) CAD drafting experience in a job shop or fabrication environment Ability to read blueprints / technical drawings Understanding of fabrication processes Strong communication and organization skills Ideal candidate 2-5 years SolidWorks / fabrication CAD experience Wants to own jobs, not just draw them Comfortable in both shop and office environments What we offer Clean, air-conditioned facility Full project ownership from start to finish Real field and customer interaction Exposure to full fabrication process
