Location:
Portland, OR (Onsite at Nike WHQ - Fridays Remote)
Duration:
~7-Month Contract (30 Weeks) About the Role We are looking for a passionate and innovative Senior Color Designer to join a dynamic product line team supporting multisport categories including football, training, and golf. This role blends creativity, storytelling, and technical execution to bring impactful color narratives to life across performance and lifestyle products. Who You'll Work With You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product Design, Materials, Development, and Merchandising. This team plays a critical role in shaping the visual identity of Nike's multisport product lines, driving innovation through color while partnering across disciplines to deliver cohesive, consumer-driven designs. What You'll Do You will lead the creation and execution of color direction across multiple product categories, translating consumer insights, sport culture, and trends into compelling color stories and palettes. Develop seasonal color palettes and narratives across footwear and apparel Apply color theory to drive decisions around color placement, material interaction, and product storytelling Collaborate with design, materials, and development teams to ensure color feasibility and execution Translate consumer and cultural insights into innovative color concepts Create and present color concepts using Adobe Creative Suite tools Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Support and contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture Qualifications 3-5 years of experience in color design, preferably in footwear and/or apparel Strong understanding of color theory, trends, and application across materials Proven ability to build color palettes and tell compelling stories through color Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) Strong understanding of sport and streetwear culture Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills Ability to thrive in ambiguity and drive collaboration across teams Positive, proactive, and team-oriented mindset Preferred Qualifications Previous experience working with Nike or a global sportswear brand Familiarity with digital design tools or AI-assisted creative workflows Additional Requirements Portfolio showcasing relevant color design work (required) Must be local to the Portland, OR area Why Join Us?
