The Associate Designer is responsible for providing design support to the apparel design team for sleepwear garments, in Women's, Juniors, and Kids categories for multiple brands. With the support of the Senior Designer, the Associate Designer is responsible for contributing to trend ideation, color palette creation, fabric submit review, sketching, and assisting in design presentations to retail clients. This person will collaborate with other Designers, Retail Partners, and our Overseas office. The Associate Designer will communicate directly with both our domestic team and the overseas team in creating apparel products that are both trend right and meet the aesthetic of each brand. This position requires an individual with a background in apparel with excitement to learn under guidance from the Sr Designer. A designer with some textile development experience is preferred but not required. Specific duties are listed below.Job Duties:
- Maintains awareness of season trends through trend research and market shopping
- Supports development for assigned category through sketching, fabric ideation and development, translating market trends into apparel products.
- Creates seasonal color palettes in tandem with Sr Designer and Textile Designer
- Assists in preparation of materials for milestone meetings with retail partners
- Effectively communicates design direction to technical designer in the creation of garment specifications, pattern development and sampling with direction from Sr Designer.
- Provides artwork direction to textile designer and creates compelling presentations.
- Communicates with overseas team in providing direction on the procurement of fabric, trimmings, or other materials.
- Assists Sr Designer in design trend presentations to retail clients
- Approves lab dips and trims from overseas team, working collaboratively with the Sr Designer
- Performs these and other duties as assigned

Qualification:
- 1-2 Years of Experience, directly related internship experience is acceptable
- BA or BS in Apparel Design and Development
- Intermediate drawing skills and knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
- Knowledge of cut & sew knits and wovens; sleepwear experience is a plus
