Adecco Creative is partnering with an iconic NYC fashion brand to recruit for a Footwear Designer. This position will be indefinite contract and a hybrid schedule in Midtown Manhattan.
Job Title:
Designer, Footwear Primary Purpose:
The Footwear Designer is responsible for creating innovative, commercially brand-right footwear concepts from initial ideation through production. Working closely with the Design Director and collaborating with Product Development and Merchandising, the Footwear Designer translates consumer insight, market trends, and brand strategy into compelling footwear collections that drive business growth. Key Responsibilities Design & Creative Development Work closely with the Design Director to ensure design consistency across all product categories. Create seasonal footwear concepts, sketches, technical renderings, tech packs, and detailed design specifications. Research fashion, lifestyle, material and color trend to inform design and product development. Partner to refine seasonal concept, lasts, materials, hardware, and color palette. Review prototypes, samples, and fit evaluations, providing design feedback and revisions. Actively participate in meetings with partners to ensure high quality execution of the product and creative vision. Responsible for CADs for full line. Ensure products meet performance, quality, cost, and timeline objectives. Skills & Competencies Ability to sketch both technical drawings and freeform sketches and renderings. Experience in developing product directly with factories; understanding development from concept through manufacturing. Understanding of footwear construction, materials, manufacturing process, and fit principles. Strong presentation, communication, and collaboration skills. Experience in working with cross-functional teams. Ability to balance creativity with commercial objectives. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Footwear, Fashion Design, or related field preferred. 3+ years of experience in footwear design with proven abilities in fashion, casual, and athletic categories. Demonstrated portfolio showcasing strong footwear design skills and product development experience.
