Job Description:
The Freelance Textile Designer is responsible for creating original print, pattern, and graphic design concepts for apparel collections across Women's, Junior's, and Kids categories, with a primary focus on sleepwear and loungewear. This role partners closely with the apparel design team to develop trend-right textile artwork that aligns with brand aesthetics, seasonal direction, and retail customer needs. Working independently and in collaboration with Designers and cross-functional teams, the Freelance Textile Designer contributes to trend research, print development, color direction, and presentation materials. The designer is responsible for creating production-ready artwork, recolors, pattern repeats, placement graphics while ensuring all designs meet quality, timeline, and brand requirements.
Job Duties:
- Research and interpret seasonal trends, color direction, and market opportunities.
- Creates original textile prints, patterns, and graphics for apparel collections.
- Prepares production-ready art sheets and maintains organized digital files
- Create colorways and recolor existing artwork to support multiple brands and retail partners.
- Collaborate with apparel designers to ensure textile artwork supports garment silhouettes and seasonal concepts.
- Creates seasonal color palettes in tandem with Designer
- Ensure artwork adheres to brand standards, licensing requirements (if applicable), and production specifications.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting established deadlines.
- Assists in preparation of materials for milestone meetings with retail partners
- Assists Sr Designer in design trend presentations to retail clients
- Performs these and other duties as assigned

Qualification:
- Strong portfolio demonstrating print, pattern, graphic, and textile design capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Textile Design, Surface Design, Fashion Design, Graphic Design, or related field preferred.
- Intermediate drawing skills and knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
- Knowledge of cut & sew knits and wovens; sleepwear experience is a plus
