Job Description
Are you looking for an opportunity to work on some of the nations largest builds? Do you want to be part of the "bigger picture and respected for your skill?" We have a current need in our detail department for a Senior Detailer. Job Summary Responsible for using SDS/2 or Tekla to accurately model and detail shop and erection drawings for the shop production and field installation of steel components. This includes, but is not limited to, generating shop and field bolt summaries, drawing lists, advanced bills of material, buyout lists, change order back-up, etc.… Interface with others to:
- Send and receive requests for information to customers and/or the design team
- Send and receive connection requests from connection engineer
- Promptly answers shop and field questions, including documented follow-up
- Communicate with checkers for discrepancies between designs and detail/erection drawings Modeling and Detailing
- Identifies and fixes failed connections effectively
- Model and detail stairs, handrails, trusses and grating
- Model and detail columns, girders, beams, vertical and horizontal bracing
- Model and detail complex geometry for ductwork
- Model and detail connections from engineering sketches
- Incorporate approval and checking changes into shop and erection drawings
- Incorporate design changes to the model and drawings and track hours for change orders General
- Maintains all current information in an organized system
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering design drawings
- Knowledge of drawing standards and fabrication practices
- Knowledge of erection practices, including OSHA subpart R requirements
- Knowledge of AWS Requirements
- Knowledge of AISC Requirements Education and Experience 10+ years of experience working for a steel fabricator or erector. 10+ years of experience detailing using Tekla or SDS/2. Looking for someone with meticulous attention to detail. Able to think critically and make decisions based on experience and best practices.
