We're searching for an Apparel Designer with a sharp trend eye, elevated taste level, and strong understanding of sustainable apparel and contemporary plus on-trend styles reflective of the HYPEACH brand. This role requires a highly creative designer with strong technical skills and experience designing across multiple categories, including athleisure, dresses, denim, swim, tailored and accessories. This role is part time with the ability to scale into full time within the first 90 days based on performance. This role is based at HYPEACH HQ
in Irvine and reports to the Chief Brand & Product Officer. RESPONSIBILIITIES
•Translate trend, cultural, competitive, and fabric insights into elevated, commercially successful sustainable and eco-certified apparel products Design across athleisure, denim, swim, tailored and dresses categories with a strong understanding of silhouette, proportion, comfort, functionality, and performance Research emerging trends, fabrics, trims, washes, and white space opportunities relevant to the HYPEACH customer Create detailed tech packs, CADs, BOMs, and construction callouts for accurate execution Maintain a catalog and archive of sustainable fabric and factory production eco-certifications Partner closely with international partners throughout the fabric sourcing and product development process, fittings, proto reviews, and production Participate in fittings and provide direction on fit, comfort, construction, and garment functionality Develop seasonal color palettes and support cohesive assortment building across categories Create and manage visual line plans to support merchandising strategy and product flow Design within cost targets while maintaining elevated product integrity Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment Collaborate cross-functionally with Merchandising, Marketing, Creative, Product Development, and Production teams to bring product to market quickly and successfully Continuously evolve and elevate the HYPEACH design aesthetic while maintaining alignment to brand DNA SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
5-7+ years in apparel design with a portfolio showing exceptional taste and commercial success. Sustainable apparel design experience preferred. Spanish language fluency preferred for working with international near-short production partners. Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and ideally 3D design tools. Highly knowledgeable in textiles, garment construction, fit, and performance fabrics. Experience managing development calendars, vendor communication and navigating production realities. Strong understanding of garment costing and timelines. Strong understanding of athleisure, denim, swimwear, dresses & tailored construction techniques Knowledge of garment engineering for movement, comfort, layering, and functionality Ability to create detailed technical sketches, construction callouts, BOMs, and tech packs Knowledge of trims and functional components including zippers, drawcords, toggles, elastic systems, seam sealing, linings, snaps, and performance hardware Experience partnering closely with product development and overseas factories throughout sample execution and fittings Ability to evaluate proto samples for fit, balance, mobility, construction, and functionality Strong knowledge of trend research, competitive market analysis, and commercial product positioning within athleisure and outerwear Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and PLM systems Strong understanding of merchandising and assortment building across core, seasonal, and fashion product categories Entrepreneurial, collaborative, and solutions-focused with a positive, can-do attitude. Strong ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously across various stages of development Highly organized with the ability to work autonomously, manage own schedule effectively in a remote environment, and consistently meet deadlines Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and accountability from concept through execution Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, able to pivot quickly and execute deliverables on time when product launches demand it Pay:
