Productions•operating in THE Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville, North Carolina•has an immediate opening for a Floral Designer. The Floral Design Associate will be tasked with creating visual design presentations in the form of floral arrangements and displays by using various art décor, fresh and silk flowers, centerpieces and any other special decorative projects as directed by leadership. He/she must also possess the ability to deliver, set and strike created set-ups throughout the hotel property, and even off-property as assigned for jobs. The Floral Design Associate falls under the leadership of the Director of Floral & Event Services, and as such will be required to play an active role in the success of event set-ups exclusive of floral as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in floral processing and handling Fresh and silk floral design skills (will be asked to make a fresh arrangement during the interview process) Extensive knowledge of plants both indoors and out; ability to identify flowers Knowledge of plant care, watering and maintenance Visual design skills Knowledge of use and handling of basic construction tools Ability to participate in event setups and strikes as necessary

RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare corsages, flower arrangements, plant arrangements as assigned, and set-up displays Inspect and maintain plants by watering, trimming, cleaning and providing other care as required Identify all varieties of foliage, blooms and fresh cut flowers Review/inspect products for quality and freshness and take appropriate action with those items Provide clients and guests with fresh products that they have ordered and the correct portion size/amount (or as close as possible to the amount ordered) to prevent shrink Display a positive attitude Use all equipment in department such as refrigerators, stem cutter, baler, u-boats, and compactor according to company guidelines Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and reporting issues to management Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodations PRI Productions is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a Drug-Free Workplace.
