Our operating hours are between 9am-5pm Tuesday - Friday and Saturday + Sunday 9-2pm with shifts tailored to roles and availability. We are seeking a freelance floral designer to join our team to assist with our busiest weeks and events. The ideal candidate will assist in various floral tasks within the shop, ensuring smooth operations.

Duties:

Designing and preparing flower arrangements as assigned Designing weddings and events under the supervision of owner and manager Provide specialized design and floral expertise to plan, design and create floral arrangements for events Constructing personal flowers such as hand-held bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres Follow design specifications to create décor for various events Participate in the receiving and processing of floral product. Assist with wedding décor setup, including moving/lifting furniture Gather, count, and divide product according to floral recipes/event/order Sort, organize, clean and restock supplies Pulling and restocking floral, related décor, loading/unloading, and delivery/pick-up at the end of the evening Ensure that event facility/venue is left in a clean and orderly condition Assist with loading/unloading of vehicles and operate vans, trucks and lifts Properly pack and handle inventory to protect against damage and deterioration Ensure that designs meet corporate and client expectations are within budget and deadlines are met Cultivate a creative and collaborative environment to inspire design and build cohesive teams within the department, division and properties Adhere to safety procedures and recommend programs to improve production and safety Stay current in design trends, floral techniques and vendor products Perform other job-related duties, as assigned Design floral arrangements and wrapped bouquets for pickup or delivery

Experience:

Two-year degree or work experience in Floral or Event Design or related field preferred At least one year of event experience Knowledge of fresh floral product and design technique, floral processing, product, design and mechanics Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume production environment Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time as well as lift up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis Possess a valid driver's license Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts and clients Professional appearance and demeanor, be willing to adhere to company dress code Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
