We are hiring a Lead Floral Designer who will maintain and execute full event production at our studio. He or she will be a full-time designer who concentrates on cohesive operations that ensure productions and design of weddings and special events are running effectively and on schedule. A Head Floral Designer works with our Design Leads and Manager(s) for oversight of event production and manages all designers and freelance designers for project related questions. Reports to Design Manager. Job Responsibilities Consistently provide a quality design product and customer service experience by ensuring all client and co-worker communication is open and motivated to deliver total customer satisfaction. Has clear understanding of event order, and can execute an order independently with the design production team Consistently meets and/or exceeds schedules provided in the weekly design plans Fully versed on all floral mechanics and best practices for designs, prepping, and processes Is fully responsible for the effective and safe packing of the delivery vehicles Manages to correct distribution of flowers according to provided recipe Maintains design experience at the level necessary to meet or exceed Flora Nova Design standards. Retain knowledge of seasonal blooms, trending designs Full knowledge of processing and care of specialty flowers (cooler, vs room temp) Maintain quality control across all outgoing arrangements Serve as a role model and set a positive example for the entire team. Develop and mentor our junior designers and freelancers on the Flora Nova aesthetic and processes. Ensure effective teaching methods when interacting with designers Regularly participates in on site wedding/event set ups, and driving a utility vehicle. Ensures that Design Time Expectations and the design times given on the weekly Design Plan are met consistently across the entire design team and freelancers to ensure timely completion of complex projects Manages smaller setup and installation teams for small and mid-sized events without supervision of a Design Manager or Design Lead Works between 30-40 hours per week Understands during peak season hours may extend past 40 hours per week, however management and Ownership will do its best to avoid this. Worktime flexibility is expected. This includes working on weekends and some holidays and Sundays. Position can evolve into a Sales Design Lead, selling social or corporate events Qualifications 5+ years of floral design experience, including event design expeirence Experience in large scale floral design and installation 2 years of team management and/or project management, teaching ability Excellent verbal communications skills. Extensive floral knowledge. Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment for in-studio design and on event set ups. Passionate about creating a fun, warm, inviting, contemporary culture that provides the ultimate experience for the customer and work experience for the employees. Must have a positive attitude and ethics, which support our values and culture. Proficiency with basic software programs (Google Docs, Office Suite) Able to lift heavy loads, able to climb ladders, able to stand for prolonged periods of time Driver's license required, and able to drive large delivery trucks
