JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Graphics Supervisor, the Office & Administrative Support II-Graphic Artist creates designs for use by various media to explain or adorn printed or spoken word, ensuring that all designs are consistent with the brand of the Beach Shops.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Collaborate with the Communications team to make visually compelling content. Create and design various materials for digital and print mediums including, but not limited to, social media, web, newsletters, signage, flyers and posters. Select colors, fonts, images, and layouts that are appropriate for the desired messaging. Ensure projects are completed in a timely manner with an eye for quality and accuracy Manage multiple projects within design specifications Implement feedback and changes provided by the Communications Manager and Supervisor. Create visualizations that convey accurate messaging for the project, with an emphasis on communicating to the requested demographic. Create designs that meet ADA/ATI Accessibility Standards Performs other duties as assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the job.CONDITIONS OF POSITION
The conditions of this position are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this job. Work Schedule Work shifts will be assigned during regular Beach Shops Corporate operating hours, which are generally Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Operational activity is year-round, and some campus closure dates and holidays are required. Shifts may vary to include mornings, and afternoons. Occasional support for campus and organizational events is required, including evenings and weekend hours. The employee must be able to provide a minimum of 20 hours during academic semesters; however, work is activity-dependent, and there may be weeks with little or no scheduled hours. Physical Demands The job will require the employee to work in an office environment while working at a desk and viewing a computer screen for long periods of time. The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear and use office equipment within arm's reach. Specific vision abilities are required, which may include close vision and ability to adjust focus. There will be time spent intermittently on their feet and moving around in a large building. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Occasionally minor production work for projects. The employee must comply with the University's rules and regulations as well as the Beach Shops. Work Environment The employee is typically in a climate-controlled office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Work content requires numerous regulatory and reporting deadlines on a consistent basis.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or experience The employee must be 18 years of age or older. The employee must possess a high school diploma or high school equivalent; A degree in Art, Communications, Marketing or a similar combination of experience and education is preferred. They must have experience using graphic design software, including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations There are no certificates, licenses, or registrations required for this position. Knowledge and Abilities The employee must demonstrate proficiency in both written and verbal communication in English. The employee must have basic knowledge of PC, MAC and Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint. They must have knowledge of graphic design-specific equipment, procedures, and printing. The employee must have the ability to follow written and verbal instructions regarding safety procedures.
