This role blends strong design execution with brand stewardship and storytelling, translating complex ideas into cohesive visual communications that strengthen how Coastal is understood by clients, partners, and employees. The ideal candidate is a versatile designer who brings discipline to brand standards, creativity to problem-solving, and consistency across every touchpoint. Essential Responsibilities Creative Design & Visual Storytelling Develop thoughtful, high-quality design solutions that support Coastal's brand, marketing, and communication goals. Translate complex information into clear, engaging visual narratives using layout, typography, illustration, iconography, photography, and motion. Create cohesive content across presentations, proposals, marketing materials, social media, internal communications, and client-facing collateral. Ensure every design balances clarity, aesthetics, usability, and brand consistency. Marketing & Business Development Design Support Design and elevate proposals, qualifications packages, presentations, brochures, award submissions, and pursuit materials. Improve visual structure, hierarchy, and storytelling to increase clarity and impact. Partner with Marketing, Business Development, and Communications teams to visually articulate Coastal's value and differentiators. Support project storytelling through compelling visuals that highlight people, projects, and outcomes. Digital Content, Motion & Multimedia Create digital-first visual assets across social media, web, internal platforms, campaigns, and environmental digital displays. Develop motion graphics, animated storytelling, and video content using After Effects, Premiere Pro, or similar tools. Create content optimized for multiple screen formats, including digital signage, LED displays, and large-format visual experiences. Support video editing, photography, and multimedia production efforts. Digital Experience & Visual Storytelling (ADD) Create engaging digital experiences that bring Coastal's brand, projects, people, and impact to life across digital platforms, including large-format displays, video walls, presentations, and internal communication channels.
Responsibilities:
Design and manage content for Coastal's digital environments, including large-format video walls, displays, and internal communication screens. Develop motion graphics, animations, and video content that communicate Coastal's projects, culture, safety initiatives, and business performance. Transform data, metrics, and complex information into visually compelling storytelling through dashboards, infographics, and dynamic content. Create immersive visual experiences that engage employees, clients, partners, and visitors. Collaborate with leadership and Marketing to develop creative concepts that reinforce Coastal's brand positioning. Brand Management & Creative Standards Maintain and protect Coastal's visual identity across all creative output. Design and manage branded templates and systems to improve consistency and efficiency. Support internal adoption of brand standards through clear, usable design tools. Review creative work for accuracy, consistency, and alignment with brand guidelines. Creative Collaboration & Vendor Management Collaborate with external creatives, agencies, photographers, videographers, and production vendors. Provide clear creative direction and feedback to ensure alignment with Coastal standards. Support coordination of timelines, deliverables, and production requirements. Creative Innovation & Industry Awareness Stay current on design trends, tools, and emerging creative practices. Identify opportunities to elevate Coastal's visual communication across channels. Bring proactive creative thinking to improve campaigns, tools, and everyday communications. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or related field preferred 3+ years of professional design experience with a portfolio demonstrating advanced visual storytelling, motion graphics, brand management, and multimedia content creation. Strong portfolio demonstrating brand design, layout, typography, and visual storytelling Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat) Experience creating presentations, marketing collateral, digital graphics, social content, and branded templates Strong foundation in typography, layout, color, hierarchy, and brand systems Demonstrated experience creating motion graphics and animated content. Experience designing for digital displays, video walls, environmental graphics, or large-format screens. Ability to translate business metrics and complex information into clear visual stories. Experience with video editing, photo manipulation, and multimedia storytelling. Strong understanding of digital design principles, screen resolution, aspect ratios, and content optimization. Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Preferred Motion graphics experience (After Effects, Premiere Pro) Experience leveraging AI-powered creative and design tools to improve efficiency, content development, and visual storytelling. Experience with website content platforms Photography or video production skills Figma and Canva administration experience Experience in construction, architecture, engineering, real estate, or professional services Understanding of proposal development and business development processes.
