Job Description

Creating designs for websites, advertisements, social media, print materials, signage, and other marketing collateral for all campus departments and programs, including college recruiting materials. Design special projects for all departments and programs on campus. Update, maintain, and enforce the campus Visual Identity Guide, ensuring campus-wide compliance with institutional branding. Revising designs based on department feedback while ensuring alignment with brand guidelines. Works on design projects from start to finish. Designs, orders, and works with third-party vendors to provide specialty items such as large format printing, press printing, mailing services, displays, swag, etc. Supervises a graphic design intern when appropriate. Meeting with department representatives to understand project requirements and objectives. Maintains an electronic log of design jobs, updating their status during the design process. Assists as Needed with the Following Managing the daily design workload alongside the other Graphic Design Specialist. Covering the Mail Room when the Mail and Copy Specialist is unavailable. Covering Print Shop duties when the Mail and Copy Specialist is unavailable. Other duties as assigned. Unique Functions Supports the Director of Marketing and Communication in fiscal decisions. Participates on teams as requested by the Director of Marketing and Communication. Specific Skills/Technical Experience Required Strong graphic design skills Strong written and oral communication skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Ability to work as a team Ability to work and be productive in a fast-paced environment Excellent customer service Ability to remain calm under pressure and meet deadlines Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work with minimal supervision Must have excellent time-management skills Must be flexible and be willing to perform additional duties as needed to ensure the success of the team Technical Expertise Preferred or Required Adobe Creative Suite Office 365 Apps (Teams, Planner, SharePoint, Outlook, etc.) Microsoft Office Basic Photography Skills Basic Computer Knowledge Adobe Creative Suite Education/Training Preferred or Required Associate degree in Graphic and/or Digital Design, or equivalent work experience Work Schedule and Conditions This position typically works Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. However, this position is also expected to attend multiple events throughout the year outside of those hours that may include parades, fundraisers, evening and weekend college events, evening and weekend community events, etc. This is an on-campus position.
