Job Description

Graphic Designer Position Overview Lifeguard Brands Group currently owns two brands — ban.do and Steel Mill — as well as GarvinLane.com, a website featuring brands that we license and source. As a full-time Graphic Designer, you'll be responsible for executing visual concepts and designs to support our brands, websites, and marketing channels. You'll create compelling design solutions for a wide variety of digital and print placements, including email campaigns, digital ads, on-site graphics, marketing postcards, and more. In this role, you'll translate key product themes, seasonal moments, and brand priorities into thoughtful visuals that align with each brand and website's unique visual identity. You'll work closely with our product, eCommerce, social media, and marketing teams to bring creative ideas to life, creating work that is both visually compelling and designed to support customer action. We are a small, agile team, and a successful candidate for this role will be curious, adaptable, collaborative, and comfortable being creative under time constraints and deadlines.

Entry/Mid-Level, Full-Time, Salaried (Exempt) A strong portfolio demonstrating clean typography, layout skills, and a lifestyle/consumer goods aesthetic is required to be considered for this position. Key Responsibilities Websites Design website graphics for existing on-site placements, ensuring promotional creative and evergreen site graphics work together cohesively in line with the creative direction provided Support the design of additional website content sections as needed, such as holiday gift guides, coming soon pages, landing pages, and other seasonal or brand moments Email Marketing Create email marketing campaigns for promotions, product launches, seasonal moments, and other brand initiatives. Design compelling graphics, build and load emails in Klaviyo, and incorporate text, buttons, product blocks, links, and other non-graphic elements using Klaviyo's tools and basic HTML as needed Develop reusable templates for recurring email campaign types, such as new arrivals, back-in-stock updates, promotions, and product launches, so that polished, on-brand campaigns can be created more quickly Support updates to email flow creative in Klaviyo, including welcome series, abandoned cart, back-in-stock, post-purchase, and other automated customer journeys, ensuring they stay current, on-brand, and aligned with seasonal and product priorities Paid Advertising & Social Media Design static assets and support simple video/motion creative for paid advertising across Google, Meta, and TikTok, adapting creative for a variety of placements, formats, and aspect ratios Create campaign-relevant graphics to support social media needs, including Instagram posts, Stories, TikTok content, and other organic social placements Marketplace, Wholesale & Brand Collateral Support marketplace and wholesale channels as needed, including seasonal graphics for Amazon stores and A+ content, as well as cropped product images and visual assets for Faire as needed Design and support new business presentations for licensing, wholesale, and other business development efforts Maintain, update, and design brand collateral as needed, including brand books, style guides, PR decks, media kits, business cards, and other internal materials Team Collaboration & Organization Maintain a working knowledge of product offerings, upcoming collaborations, seasonal priorities, and marketing initiatives Communicate project status clearly with the marketing team and leadership, using tools like Slack and Basecamp to keep projects moving and ensure visibility across the team Manage personal deadlines according to established timelines, proactively flagging questions, blockers, or shifting priorities as needed Participate in critiques and asset reviews to ensure artwork is aligned across campaigns, feels brand-right, and supports campaign goals Maintain campaign overview decks and department archives, so that files and reference materials stay organized and up to date Other projects and duties as assigned Experience, Skills & Qualifications BA or BFA in graphic design or similar 2-3 years of professional graphic design experience Strong design skills in both digital and print Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator and Photoshop Comfortable working within Google Apps Comfortable in a deadline-driven department Working knowledge of Basecamp or similar digital project management tools is a plus Possess a strong portfolio featuring both digital and print experience A highly effective communicator and collaborator Highly detail-oriented and discerning Able to take direction and prioritize tasks Must be a team player Some overtime may be required Physical Requirements Must be able to sit and work at a computer in a cubicle environment for the duration of shift Stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds or more Specific vision capabilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus Strong verbal skills (proficient in English) About Us Lifeguard Press is an internationally known provider of licensed, high profile designer gifts, stationery, and accessories, reaching a global customer base through multiple channels including major brand collaborations; direct retail consumer sales (.com), independent/specialty gift stores and major department stores.
