Job Description
A day in the life It's the start of your shift in Marysville, MI. You review the production schedule, pull the next job's specs, and bring a machine up from idle to perfect alignment. You dial in tooling, verify offsets, and calibrate critical dimensions. First-article checks with calipers and micrometers confirm you've hit the mark. Throughout the day, you keep a close eye on cycle performance, respond quickly to alarms, and fine-tune for quality and throughput. You document every changeover and adjustment so the team has a clean trail to follow. When a teammate has a question, you jump in—sharing safe operating practices and setup tips. Before you wrap up, you reset the area to a clean, organized standard so the next run launches smoothly. What you'll do Prepare, set, and calibrate production machinery to meet job specifications and tolerances. Perform routine preventive maintenance and troubleshoot issues to keep equipment running. Monitor live operations for safety, quality, and efficiency; optimize parameters as needed. Partner closely with production to hit schedule targets and customer commitments. Record machine settings, offsets, and adjustments to support quality control and traceability. Support onboarding by coaching new team members in machine operation and safety procedures. Maintain a tidy, well-organized workcell to promote safety and flow. What you bring High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification is a plus. Hands-on experience in machine setup or manufacturing strongly preferred. Mechanical aptitude and a methodical problem-solving mindset. Ability to read and interpret technical documents, prints, and schematics. Meticulous attention to detail and a passion for quality workmanship. Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach. Flexibility to work varied hours and overtime when required.
