For more than 40 years, we have partnered with nonprofit organizations to create meaningful merchandise that supports education, conservation, and interpretation. We are seeking a talented Graphic Designer & Illustrator to join our in-house creative team. This role combines illustration, graphic design, product development, and creative project coordination. The ideal candidate has exceptional Adobe Illustrator skills, a strong understanding of typography and color, and a passion for creating products that connect people to places and stories. Position Summary The Graphic Designer & Illustrator is responsible for creating original artwork and developing products from concept through production. This individual will collaborate closely with the project manager, production partners, and fellow creatives to bring ideas to life across a wide range of products. In addition to product design and illustration, this role may support social media content creation and visual marketing initiatives that strengthen Eagle River Designs' brands and customer relationships. Essential ResponsibilitiesGraphic Design & Illustration Create original illustrations, graphics, logos, and visual assets for custom and stock product lines. Design artwork for enamel pins, embroidered patches, magnets, keychains, bookmarks, and other souvenir products based on manufacturing specifications. Produce clean, organized, production-ready vector artwork using Adobe Illustrator. Develop typography treatments, badge designs, icon systems, and interpretive graphics. Ensure consistency in brand identity, color accuracy, and visual quality across all projects. Product Development Collaborate on the development of new product lines and creative collections. Transform client concepts and interpretive themes into compelling retail products. Research historical, cultural, wildlife, botanical, and geographic subjects to support design development. Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative product ideas. Production & Color Management Prepare artwork files for domestic and international manufacturing partners. Manage color matching, proof review, and production specifications. Review samples and proofs to ensure design integrity and manufacturing accuracy. Understand production limitations and adapt designs for successful manufacturing outcomes. Project Coordination Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality standards. Maintain organized project files, revisions, and production documentation. Coordinate with sales, production, and leadership teams to keep projects moving efficiently. Communicate project status, timelines, and design requirements clearly. Social Media & Marketing Support Design graphics and visual assets for social media, email marketing, websites, and promotional campaigns. Assist with content planning and scheduling across social media platforms. Support storytelling initiatives that highlight products, partners, public lands, museums, and conservation efforts. Help maintain visual consistency across Adventure Booty brands. QualificationsRequired 3+ years of professional graphic design and illustration experience. Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator. Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign. Strong portfolio demonstrating illustration, typography, branding, and product design. Excellent understanding of color theory, typography, composition, and layout. Strong attention to detail and file organization. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Preferred Experience designing products for retail, museums, national parks, gift stores, or tourism-related industries. Experience with merchandise development, promotional products, or manufacturing processes. Familiarity with Shopify, Wix, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and other content management platforms. Experience creating social media content and visual marketing campaigns. Passion for national parks, public lands, museums, conservation, and educational storytelling.
