Job Description
As our Graphic Designer & Label Specialist, you will be responsible for developing visually engaging designs, branded packaging, and creative content that strengthen Shawnee Canning Company and Shawnee Springs Market's identity, products, and customer engagement. This role is heavily focused on graphic design, packaging and label development, visual storytelling, and creative content production across print, digital, packaging, and social platforms. Responsibilities include designing and preparing customer branded labels, promotional materials, and digital graphics. This position will also support labeling operations by ensuring label accuracy, print quality, proper formatting, and compliance with company packaging standards. The ideal candidate is highly creative, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing multiple projects while maintaining brand consistency and production accuracy.

Full-Time, Hourly Job Requirements Design and produce branded customer labels and packaging artwork Prepare print-ready label files and ensure proper formatting, alignment, sizing, and production specifications Coordinate with warehouse and production teams to ensure labels are accurate, compliant, and aligned with packaging orders Review label proofs, batch coding, and product information for accuracy and traceability Operate and troubleshoot label printing equipment as needed, including Quick Label Printers and CQL Pro Printers (preferred experience) Collaborate with company leadership and corporate teams to support branding, packaging, and promotional initiatives Coordinate the creation and implementation of premium product branding and related materials Work with subject matter experts and stakeholders to develop visual assets supporting product growth Serve as a media resource for distributing promotional and event-related materials Maintain organized digital design files, print records, and production assets Manage multiple creative and production projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines Ensure consistency in branding, messaging, print quality, and visual standards across all company materials Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong graphic design and visual communication skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in packaging and label production Creative mindset with an eye for branding, layout, and print quality Ability to prioritize projects and adapt to changing deadlines Self-driven and results-oriented team player Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across departments Experience creating content for both print and digital platforms Basic copywriting and content editing skills Ability to follow written and verbal instructions while maintaining production standards Strong organizational, proofreading, and quality-control skills Additional Qualifications Associate degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Visual Communications, or related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred Minimum of 5 years of professional graphic design experience Experience with branding, packaging, label creation, and print production preferred Proficiency in graphic design and content creation software (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, video editing software, etc.) Experience with label printing systems and production processes preferred Strong understanding of branding, layout, typography, packaging, and visual storytelling Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong attention to detail and creative problem-solving abilities Excellent communication and collaboration skills Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Shawnee Canning Co, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
