Job Description
Our Client, an EV Manufacturer company, is looking for a Senior Engineer- Interior for their Newark, CA location.
Responsibilities:
Be a significant contributor to a world class Interior Components and Systems engineering team
Create industry leading Interior Components and Systems with groundbreaking luxury, craftsmanship, performance, safety, ergonomics, and functionality
Contribute to the packaging, engineering, release, and launch of Interior Components and Systems across the client portfolio
Work collaboratively within a cross functional marketing, design, and vehicle engineering team, prioritizing overall vehicle benefit above individual systems
Collaborate with interior trim suppliers to ensure technical excellence and on time delivery of client Interior Components and Systems
Employ and develop effective tools and innovative approaches to support product development
Requirements:
4+ years of demonstrated experience as a detail oriented Interior Components and Systems development lead (e.g., hard trim, soft trim, IP, door trims, consoles, headliners, etc.)
Knowledge and understanding of automotive interior components and systems, industry benchmarks, trends, and supplier capabilities
Experience creating, improving, or establishing technical product specifications and timelines to support accelerated development toward SOP
Proficiency in CAD for 2D/3D concept drawings, interior components and systems, packaging layouts, and DFM studies (CATIA V5/V6 preferred)
Vehicle and product launch experience
Minimum 4 years' experience as a detail oriented Interior Components and Systems development lead (e.g., hard trim, soft trim, IP, door trims, consoles, headliners, etc.)
Minimum 4 years of knowledge and understanding of automotive interior components and systems, industry benchmarks, trends, and supplier capabilities
Minimum 4 years' experience creating, improving, or establishing technical product specifications and timelines to support accelerated development toward SOP
Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline
Flexibility and adaptability to succeed in a fast paced startup environment
Experience completing one full program cycle from concept to production launch in automotive interior components and systems
Profound knowledge of vehicle interior systems with a demonstrable track record of technical excellence and program execution
Strong understanding of plastic part design, structural performance, manufacturing technologies, craftsmanship, ergonomics, safety, and homologation requirements
Competency in materials selection, plastic injection molding/DFM, and GD&T
A strong desire to create exceptional products as part of a highly capable team
A practical, hands-on approach that complements theoretical knowledge
Exceptional technical abilities paired with excellent communication skills
