Potential | 3 days/week on-site in San Francisco About r.
Potential r.
Potential is a San Francisco-based enterprise platform backed by The Adecco Group and Salesforce. The company operates at the intersection of two of the largest forces shaping the global economy: the $30 trillion human labor market and the rapidly expanding investment in enterprise AI. As organizations deploy AI alongside human teams, the harder problem is no longer what AI can do—it's whether enterprises can absorb the change. Determining where AI should become the work, what should remain human, how the organization stays aligned, and whether investments deliver measurable value requires a new operating model. r.
Potential is building the measurement and governance infrastructure that makes that possible. AI is rewriting what people do at work. We are building the AI nervous system for the world's largest employers: a platform that signals where to apply AI agents and where to redeploy human capacity to put people to their highest potential. Fortune 500 executives and AI labs are building it with us. Everyone on the team—from the founder down—helps shape the product. We move quickly, think deeply, and hold a high craft bar. AI accelerates execution; our advantage comes from making better product decisions. We're looking for people with the judgment and taste to decide what to build. About the role You'll own how Fortune 500 leaders see, decide, and act on what AI is doing to their workforce. The design language for AI-era enterprise software is being written right now, and you'll write a lot of it. We're looking for a senior product designer who thrives in ambiguity and enjoys shaping and executing beautiful and intuitive products. You'll partner closely with the founder, engineering, and product team to define problems, simplify complex workflows, and make thoughtful product decisions. As AI continues to accelerate execution, we believe the differentiator is product judgment. We care as much about why you designed something as what you designed. The best candidates can clearly explain their reasoning, balance user needs with business goals, and help shape product direction. You'll own meaningful product areas from early concepts through launch and iteration. What you'll do Own product areas from ambiguous problem definition through shipped experience and continuous iteration. Partner with the founder, engineering, and product team to shape product strategy, customer workflows, and user experience, including the interface design - in this role you will be expected to directly execute in a hands-on way. Simplify complex enterprise problems into intuitive, opinionated product experiences. Design and ship product features on a fast cadence. Sometimes from idea to production in a single day. Own complex enterprise flows including pipelines, dashboards, role and function navigation, calibration experiences. Maintain and evolve our design system, visual language, and editorial craft. Use AI tools throughout your workflow to increase speed and quality—from exploration and prototyping to implementation. Ship small-to-medium UI changes directly to the code base. What we're looking for 6+ years of experience as a product designer with a portfolio of shipped product work. We care more about the quality of your judgment and ownership than the exact number of years. Experience owning meaningful product areas end-to-end or leading 0-to-1 product initiatives, from ambiguous problem definition through launch and iteration. Experience working within product-led organizations where design is a strategic partner in product thinking, customer experience, and roadmap decisions—not solely responsible for visual execution. Demonstrated ability to explain the reasoning behind your work. You can clearly articulate tradeoffs, product decisions, and how your design choices support user outcomes and business goals. Strong product judgment and systems thinking. You simplify complex problems, identify the right problems to solve, and make thoughtful decisions in ambiguous environments. At least one complex flow or data-heavy UI in your portfolio: dashboards, admin tools, multi-step pipelines, or comparable enterprise products. Background in B2B or enterprise SaaS, or as the primary designer at an early-stage startup. Demonstrated fluency using AI throughout your design workflow. You use AI to explore ideas, iterate quickly, and ship production-quality work more efficiently. Comfortable shipping small UI changes using Cursor or Claude Code within a React/shadcn codebase. Exceptional product judgment paired with strong visual craft. You can explain not only why interfaces from products like Linear, Stripe, Vercel, Figma, or Notion feel cohesive, but why they work—and how your own design decisions improve user outcomes. Comfort iterating on shipped products without preciousness. Bay Area commutable. Comfortable working in person three days per week. Bonus points Experience at high-craft, product-led software companies known for exceptional product design and user experience. Direct experience with shadcn, Radix, or Tailwind. Some marketing, landing page, or brand surface work. Public design artifacts such as a personal site, writing, talks, or open-source contributions. Experience owning and evolving a design system, including tokens, patterns, and reusable components. What we offer A design surface that matters. Every flow you ship shapes what AI does to people's work inside a Fortune 500. Real ownership over the user-facing product—not a slot in a design ops queue. Direct partnership with the founder on product, strategy, and brand. Room to grow into broader ownership of the design system and marketing surfaces.
