CAD Engineer - Aircraft Structures (eVTOL)

12 months Pay rate: $70/hr About the Company This organisation is pioneering the future of urban air mobility through the development of all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. With a mission to enable safe, sustainable, and efficient air transportation, the team is focused on building next-generation aircraft that redefine how people move. About the Role A CAD Engineer is sought to support the design and development of critical aircraft structures, with a focus on control surfaces that are integral to flight performance and safety. Working closely with Mechanical Engineers, the CAD Engineer will translate detailed 3D models into high-quality, production-ready 2D drawings. This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to cutting-edge electric aircraft programs in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, with scope for growth into increased responsibility over time. Key Responsibilities
  • Create and release detailed 2D drawings from existing 3D CAD models and assemblies
  • Collaborate with Mechanical Engineering teams to support the design of aircraft control surface structures
  • Apply GD&T principles to ensure accuracy, quality, and manufacturability
  • Support engineering change activity and design iteration in a dynamic development environment
  • Incorporate materials and manufacturing considerations into technical documentation
  • Maintain configuration control and ensure consistency across released drawings
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of design and documentation processes Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate's degree (or higher) in CAD, Mechanical Design, or a related field
  • Minimum of 1 year's experience using Siemens NX (required)
  • Experience creating mechanical part and assembly drawings
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing standards
  • Understanding of materials used in mechanical design Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting fabrication and assembly processes
  • Exposure to aerospace, automotive, or other highly engineered products
  • Interest in electric propulsion or advanced air mobility systems
  • Mechanical Engineering degree (beneficial but not required) Additional Information
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams is essential
