In this role, you'll take on meaningful ownership of design deliverables across active charging hardware programs — working closely with senior engineers to execute complex mechanical designs, support certification and validation efforts, and drive supplier deliverables to completion. This is a hands-on role. You will own your portion of the design, coordinate directly with contract manufacturers and suppliers, and be expected to keep your work moving independently. This is what you'll do: Working in a fast-paced, agile environment, you'll contribute to the full development lifecycle of EV charging hardware — from detailed design through design validation and production launch.

You'll be the directly responsible individual for: CAD modeling, drawing creation, and engineering releases for assigned components and subassemblies of consumer and network charging products - Performing and documenting tolerance analyses, DFM reviews, and GD&T on new and revised components in coordination with contract manufacturers. Supporting FEA and structural analyses (e.g. wind load, mounting, fatigue) to de-risk design decisions ahead of tooling release. Coordinating lab builds, prototype hardware inspection, and first-article reviews as hardware comes in from suppliers. Tracking open engineering issues in sprint tools and Jira — maintaining up-to-date status on assigned workstreams across active programs. Preparing engineering documentation at key program milestones. Supporting UL and regulatory compliance activities under the direction of senior engineers — including test preparation, documentation, and tracking of open certification issues.
Collaborate with:
Staff Product and Mechanical Design Engineers to execute design changes and support program deliverables across the portfolio. Contract Manufacturers and suppliers (e.g. injection molders, tooling houses, electrical/mechanical assembly partners) to close open DFM comments and review first-article parts • Compliance and Systems Engineering to support implementation of UL and regulatory requirements in mechanical designs. Technical Program Managers to provide accurate schedule inputs and flag risks before they become issues. Industrial Design to ensure design intent is faithfully realized in production-intent geometry and materials. Report on and
Escalate:
Design issues that require senior engineering input or cross-functional alignment — brought forward with clear context and proposed options where possible. Supplier deliverable delays, particularly where tooling or first-article timing affects key program milestones. Weekly progress against assigned sprint tasks, with honest estimates of remaining work A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or a closely related field. 3-6 years of experience in consumer or industrial hardware product development, with a demonstrated track record of owning and delivering mechanical designs from concept through production. Proficiency in 3D CAD (CATIA
V6 / ENOVIA
strongly preferred) and 2D drawing creation including GD&T. Working knowledge of injection molding, sheet metal, and electromechanical assembly processes; exposure to die casting and potting a plus. Experience supporting or coordinating design validation and certification testing (UL, ETL, or similar) is a meaningful advantage. Familiarity with Jira or similar sprint-based engineering tracking tools is a plus. Ability to manage your own workload and deliverables in a fast-moving program environment — with the presence of mind to escalate when blocked
