This role is ideal for someone who thinks in 3D, understands how mechanical components behave, and can translate that into strong, manufacturable designs. This is a hands‑on design role, working closely with Engineering, Production, and Sales to create packaging that is functional, protective, and cost‑effective. What You'll Do Design 3D packaging solutions for mechanical and industrial products Create detailed 3D models and layouts using SolidWorks or similar CAD tools Develop structural packaging concepts including corrugated, foam, and custom assemblies Support prototyping and evaluate fit, form, and function Conduct performance testing (ISTA, ASTM, MIL‑STD) to validate designs Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to refine designs and meet customer requirements Maintain accurate drawings and documentation throughout the design cycle What You Need 2-5+ years of mechanical or packaging design experience Strong 3D CAD skills — SolidWorks preferred Ability to think in 3D and understand mechanical relationships Experience creating technical drawings, layouts, and assemblies Mechanical aptitude — understanding how products behave under load, impact, and vibration Experience with prototyping and testing Able to communicate clearly with customers, understand their challenges, and provide professional design support Packaging, corrugated, foam, or automation background is a plus Who Thrives in This Role Someone who visualizes in 3D and enjoys solving mechanical problems Someone who likes hands‑on testing and prototyping, not just CAD work Someone who can balance creativity, engineering, and manufacturability
