We are adding Senior level Mechanical Checkers highly skilled in Smartplant 3D to our Kiewit Industrial Engineering team with 7+ years of experience with relatable mechanical design and checking experience, 3D modeling for mechanical equipment/balance of plant systems for Industrial markets. If you are skilled in checking models, mechanical layouts, and piping systems we want to talk with you. We have opportunities for full time in our offices in Texas, Kansas and Colorado or contract opportunities remotely. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with subject matter experts, as you support he full spectrum of design, from conceptual (pre-FEED), to FEED to detailed design for design/build and EPC projects for facilities across North America. District Overview Kiewit Engineering Group, Inc is a full-service consulting and engineering firm serving the infrastructure and engineering markets. Our rapidly growing Industrial Design Group, which includes process, electrical, controls, structural, architectural, geotechnical, and civil disciplines, is a multi-faceted and leading-edge division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on EPC and design-build delivery of industrial projects in markets such as Advanced Manufacturing, Heavy Manufacturing, Industrial Water treatment, Wastewater treatment and Campu/Utilities/Industrial energy. Location Full time positions can be located in our Houston Texas, Lenexa, Kansas, Lone Tree, Colorado, offices. We offer relocation assistance to our district office in Lenexa Kansas. Contract positions are available and can be worked remotely. Responsibilities- Utilize SmartPlant 3D to create 3D equipment models based off equipment drawings. Draft sketches, P&ID's, and model 3D equipment for industrial facilities.
- Review mechanical drawings and 3D models for mechanical systems, equipment and piping for accuracy, completeness and adherence to engineering standards.
- Perform early project design work related to facility layout and equipment general arrangement.
- Develop and check design deliverables in accordance with industry codes and standards, contract requirements, and company standards. Lead projects and teams of mechanical designers.
- Identify inconsistences, clashes or missing information as well as check for constructability.
- Support the construction team including representing the design team on-site, answering RFI's, providing creative design solutions, etc.
- Coordinate with other design partners (both internal and external) including construction partners, equipment suppliers, and other engineers and designers assigned to the project or task and review work progress and results.

Base Compensation:
