Job Description
About the Role As a Product Design Engineer, you will lead the development and lifecycle management of complex automotive glass systems, ensuring seamless integration with vehicle architecture. You will leverage your expertise in CAD modeling and engineering standards to drive innovation from initial concept through to successful vehicle launch. Responsibilities Oversee the end-to-end engineering lifecycle for glass systems, ensuring all components meet performance and safety requirements. Develop high-fidelity 3D CAD models and 2D technical drawings, providing final authorization for production release. Facilitate cross-functional design reviews and DFMEA processes to identify risks and optimize system reliability. Act as the primary technical liaison between manufacturing plants, internal teams, and OEM partners to resolve integration challenges. Lead product development meetings to align stakeholders on technical specifications, tolerances, and design proposals. Provide on-site engineering support at assembly plants and testing facilities to ensure seamless production builds. Qualifications Required Skills Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field. 5+ years of experience in automotive product design and development. Proficiency in CAD software, specifically Unigraphics (NX). Strong understanding of GD&T and automotive engineering release systems. Ability to travel to support OEM facilities and production sites. Preferred Skills Prior experience with automotive glazing or glass systems. Working knowledge of Catia and Teamcenter. Proven track record of managing technical projects with major automotive OEMs. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for project documentation and reporting.
