Job Description
The pay range is $73,000.00 - $132,000.00 Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience and certifications. Then you'll have success on our Design team who owns the design and development of all Target-owned brands, from apparel to home goods, and beauty to essentials. In close partnership with our merchant and sourcing counterparts, you'll drive brand cohesion and continuity, ensuring that our products meet the merchant line plans, assortment strategies, price points and overall creative direction. As a Designer supporting Owned Brand Product Design and Development for Wild Fable Sweaters and Cut & Sew Knits , you will work under the overall direction of Design leadership and be accountable for product research, design, and development that bring cohesive product stories to life and align with design and merchant strategies. You will be expected to maintain a diligent and self-directed approach to workload, manage your own process and calendar, and provide clear and timely communication with internal and external partners. In this role, you will be responsible for driving category concepts and strategies throughout the development process, inclusive of market, trend, and consumer research. You will lead the development of sweaters and cut & sew knits design language, translating ideas into product direction. This includes preparing and delivering professional presentations with inspirational research and illustrations that reflect your design intent, as well as working closely with your cross-functional partners and business partners to communicate detailed direction inclusive of material, wash, trims, artwork needs, garment construction and expression of fit direction for successful product development. In addition, you will support and drive product designs that maintain overall brand creative vision, and support merchant line plans, assortment strategies, and price points. You'll build brand cohesion by partnering with peers across the brand to ensure continuity. In collaboration with technical designers/engineers and sourcing partners, you'll also identify , troubleshoot and resolve product issues. - Four-year degree in Design, Fine Art or related field, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Computer design system skills including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
- Experience in CAD illustration or 2D/3D software
- Knowledge of textiles, garment construction/fit or raw materials & product production
- Experience assimilating product feedback
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience working in a retail or product development environment
- Ability to build relationships in order to successfully work in a team environment
- Ability to respond to business objectives with creative, innovative and cost-effective design solutions This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target's needs.
