Full Job Description Work Eligibility:
Must be a U.S. Citizen or a permanent lawful resident of the U.S Do you have experience in designing mechanisms, e.g. Shifters, Parking Brakes or latches? Do you enjoy designing complete assemblies and hands on testing of your completed designs? If so we are looking for a Designer/Design Engineer for a direct position located in the beautiful northern rolling hills of Missouri within a 30 minute drive north of Columbia. Relocation assistance will be provided if needed. Possibly 2 positions with one being a Senior level that needs very little support and another with a min of 2 years of experience below.
  • 4 yr degree preferred in a technical or equivalent industry related experience
  • Design experience utilizing NX or other CAD systems (2 yrs minimum)
  • Experience designing typical mechanical components e.g. stampings, molded parts from engineering sketches or previous products and integrating into mechanical assemblies.
  • Create details and apply GD&T and critical characteristics that are important for fit/function/safety.
  • DFM and DFA experience a plus
Essential Functions:
(or ability to pick up quickly) Ability to perform all safety critical functions. The product must be built to the designated specs approved and cannot be deviated or substituted. Must be able to recognize and call the critical characteristic symbols as listed on the blueprints. Create and modify drawings. Design new components, assemblies and processes for production facility Collaborate with cross-functional teams during design, development, validation, and launch activities for successful product launch. Assist Manufacturing Engineering with other process and assembly problem solving. Investigate, propose, and manage new product development efforts or product updates. Coordinate with Sales and customer(s) to create and release Product Specifications and Documents for assigned product ideas.
