Job Description

The primary duties of the Bodies Designer are to enable Stonewell to improve efficiency in the design, manufacturing, installation and delivery of custom made truck bodies, trailers, vehicle interiors and related components. This position combines designing with hands-on part fit and function verification. Primary duties include, but are not limited to: Creating CAD designed parts and layouts used for body and trailer manufacturing Providing dimensional specifications as requested Laser programing for all customer needs, not restricted to any customer base Generating cut sheets for manufacturing and welding of the body assembly Developing material cost calculations for profit analysis Create bills of material for purchasing and production planning Creating CAD designs for customer / sales use Modeling of interiors for tool and component layout Working with operations to create a library of components for interior layouts Working with sales to interpret customer requirements leading to a customer agreed upon designs Creating installation best practices for multiple vehicle brands. Creating standards for body designs that facilitate ease of conversion among vehicle brands Cutting material and stock components Material costs, Labor costs, Overhead allocations Work with vendors to continually improve the aesthetics and functionality of Stonewell bodies and trailers Work with vendors and functional departments to improve efficiency with which Stonewell can assembly bodies and trailers. Examples include - wiring connectors, wiring harnesses, fasteners, adhesives, hinges, door components
