ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Product & Packaging Designer will be a high-output, creative thinker responsible for developing innovative pet products and packaging. This role requires strong execution skills, speed, and the ability to translate concepts into production-ready designs while collaborating across departments to support business objectives.

• Design and develop innovative pet products and packaging aligned with brand strategy and retail requirements.
• Translate concepts into clear, accurate, and production-ready designs in a fast-paced environment.
• Create presentations, mockups, and detailed tech packs for internal teams and external partners.
• Collaborate closely with sales, product development, and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and scalable.
• Research market trends and continuously bring fresh, commercially viable ideas to the team.
• Manage multiple design projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
• Maintain organized files, documentation, and version control for all design work.
• Support and guide junior or temporary designers as needed.
• Ensure all designs meet retailer specifications and compliance requirements.
• Troubleshoot design and production challenges with practical, creative solutions.
• Maintain efficiency and speed without compromising quality or brand integrity.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

COMPETENCIES

• Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
• Experience with AI tools (ChatGPT, Canva AI, Figma, or similar) and an eagerness to expand usage.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or a related field, with 3+ years of experience in packaging and/or product design (hard goods preferred), or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A strong portfolio demonstrating both creative concepting and retail-ready execution is required; experience designing for major retailers, is a plus.
