Cost Engineer / Product Design Advantage Technical - United States, Ohio, Raymond Jun 30, 2026 Cost Engineer / Product Design - Raymond, OH 9-month contract assignment (extension possible) Onsite work requirements Overview / Qualifications Product costing and Manufacturing Strategies from concept through production
Evaluate product designs for manufacturability and cost competitiveness.
Develop detailed should-cost models for both piece price and tooling/investment using cost modeling tools (aPriori or other models)
Support RFQ activities by analyzing supplier quotations and validating pricing.
Assess cost impacts resulting from engineering design changes.
Provide cost analysis and data to support supplier negotiations.
Identify VA/VE opportunities and recommend cost reduction initiatives.
Maintain cost tracking, reporting, and analysis tools to provide visibility into project performance. Requirements Strong background in cost engineering and manufacturing processes
Experience with should-cost modeling and cost analysis methodologies
Knowledge of manufacturing processes: Injection molding, Metal stamping, Metal fabrication, Thermoforming, Mechanical assembly You will be working from engineering / sourcing information provided: Product specifications and cost targets
Project timing and program milestones
CAD models and Bill of Materials (BOM) data
Supplier quotations and supporting documentation. Preferred Software Experience
- aPriori
- Microsoft Excel - Advanced with creating reports and cost analysis
- Microsoft PowerPoint
- CATIA V6 or comparable CAD viewing software Education Degree preferred but not required.
