Latrobe, PA Job Summary and Mission:
Kennametal, Inc. seeks an Associate Engineer - Product Engineering - to work in Latrobe, PA, and, as a member of the Global Solutions Engineering Group. This position will be responsible for reviewing customers' tool requests and developing tooling concepts for custom engineered solutions tooling including but not limited to metal cutting drills and steel products for turning and milling products as well as providing completed quotations for said tooling. This person will work independently, as well as collaboratively, in a team environment with a diverse group of Sales Teams, Application Engineers, Customers, Material Sciences and Manufacturing.
Experience:
A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field is preferred. At least two (2) years of experience in a related position is preferred. Practical experience interpreting technical drawings and engineering specifications. Knowledge of geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Advanced mathematics and understanding of close tolerance manufacturing processes such as pressing, sintering, grinding, milling, turning, etc. Experience with 3D modeling and/or CAD/CAM software is also desired. Knowledge of machining processes and carbide cutting tools are a plus. To be considered for this position, you must be legally authorized to work in the US (excluding Optional Practice Testing) and not require sponsorship now or in the future.
