Position Overview:
XR is seeking a full-time creative and detail-oriented Packaging & Brand Designer to lead the development and execution of product packaging and visual brand identity across multiple product lines. This role combines creative design, branding, packaging production, and creative collaboration to deliver high-quality visual assets across packaging, marketing, retail, and digital platforms. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced consumer product environment and has strong experience managing packaging projects from concept through final production. This position works closely with product development, marketing, and external vendors to support new product launches and ongoing brand growth. This position reports to the VP, Product Development. Brand & Identity Development Collaborate with the product development team to conceptualize and create new brands across product lines and categories. Develop initial brand assets, including logos, mood/style boards, and brand guidelines. Define visual identity across product packaging, marketing assets, retail signage, and digital platforms. Maintain and update existing brand identities as needed, modernizing look and feel while creating updated brand and packaging guidelines. Packaging Design Design product packaging from concept through production, including dielines, layout, typography, color selection, and visual composition. Produce packaging mockups and 3D renders for review and approval. Collaborate with printers, packaging suppliers, and other external vendors to ensure production quality and feasibility. Develop packaging and marketing assets for one-off products and private label brands as needed. Asset Management & Documentation Create and maintain internal and external brand asset libraries, templates, and documentation to ensure consistency across all touchpoints. Build and maintain Packaging Guidelines detailing product finishes, materials, logo usage, color standards, and brand-specific guidelines. Conduct quality control on final artwork to ensure consistency, accuracy, and adherence to brand standards. Collaboration & Process Management Work cross-functionally with marketing, product development, and external vendors to ensure cohesive branding and messaging. Support the product development team in identifying missing product types and packaging opportunities. Follow structured workflow for brand and packaging development, including research, style boards, concept exploration, refinement, approval, and final production. Required Skills & Qualifications:
5+ years of proven experience in packaging design, branding, or graphic design within consumer products, retail, or e-commerce environments. Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, primarily Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. Strong understanding of packaging production, print processes, dielines, and color management. Experience preparing production-ready artwork and working with print vendors and manufacturers. Strong typography, layout, color theory, and visual storytelling skills. Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience developing private label, retail, or e-commerce brands. Experience supporting Amazon and digital product launch assets Familiarity with 3D rendering/mockup tools and AI-assisted creative workflows is a plus. Experience within consumer products, toys, lifestyle, wellness, beauty, electronics, or related industries preferred. Work Environment:
Full-time, in-office position based in Huntington Beach, CA. Remote or hybrid work arrangements are not available for this role. Collaborative, fast-paced, creative, and product development environment. Pay:
