Responsibilities and Duties Confer with client to determine factors affecting planning interior environments, such as budget, design preferences, and purpose and function. Advise client on interior design factors such as space planning, layout and utilization of furnishings or equipment, and color coordination. Estimate requirements and costs, and present design to client for approval. Select or design, and purchase furnishings, art works, and accessories. Render design ideas in form of paste-ups or drawings.
Qualifications and Skills Education:
Some college preferred. Completed college coursework in interior design, arts, graphics, etc. or related experience.
Experience:
Proven success in sales and interior design. In-home design service and design presentation ability is preferable. 2+ years of experience in Interior Design highly preferred.
Other Requirements:
Excellent communication and organizational skills and attention to detail Must have creative design ability, flair for color, knowledge of fashion furniture trends and styles Demonstrated ability in room design and color coordination. Demonstrated ability to design and create professional ¼" scale space plans. Must be able to work holidays, evenings and weekends. Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record and provide own transportation to and from customer's homes. Active Listening
