Your Role As a Mid Level Gensler Designer, your job is to combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce purposeful, functional and beautiful spaces for our clients. You should have exceptional design skills, a background in architecture with a focus on Interiors or Interior Design, and a portfolio of innovative design concepts. You must be an integral part of your teams and actively foster a respectful, creative, and inspiring design environment. You should have a great reputation in the design community at large. What You Will Do Perform interior design assignments that include interpreting client's needs, space planning, conceptual design, schematic design, design development and construction documentation Performs work requiring independent judgment in evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation/modification of standard techniques and procedures. Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting Generate design with 3D models, Revit, Sketchup or other software, create digital 3D view to communicate design concepts Generate Interior finishes and reflected ceiling plans, elevations, details, specifications, and material selections needed for construction Provide design support and documentation during completion and execution of design concepts Work with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators Guide and mentor junior designers Work in a synergistic manner with other design and professional staff Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs Your Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of design or architecture 3-6 years of interior design and/or architecture project experience, including demonstrated design leadership; recent workplace, education, and/or commercial experience preferred Knowledge of applicable building codes and accessibility requirements Experience delivering sustainable and high‑performance design solutions Proficiency in Revit required Proficiency with 2D/3D modeling tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, Enscape, and/or 3ds Max; V‑Ray experience a plus Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) Strong visual and spatial design skills with the ability to think and visualize in three dimensions Enrolled in an IDP Program (NCARB or NCIDQ) and actively pursuing licensure, preferred but not required LEED Accredited Professional or currently pursuing accreditation, preferred but not required Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and relationship‑management skills Detail‑oriented with clear verbal and written communication abilities Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment and take direction from senior designers and architects Ability to work in person in the office 5 days per week To be considered for this role, please submit a PDF portfolio showcasing workplace, education, and/or commercial interior projects. The portfolio should ideally demonstrate a range of projects and design approaches. This is not a remote role; we look forward to working with our new Designers in our incredible San Jose, CA, office. •The base salary will be estimated between $75,000 - $95,000, plus bonuses and benefits and is contingent on relevant experience.
