This role is for someone who understands consultative sales, kitchen and bath design, cabinetry details, client presentations, and closing high-value home improvement projects. The Sales Designer owns the client relationship from the first conversation through signed contract. You will meet with prospective clients, uncover their needs, discuss budget and scope, guide design direction, review plans and layouts, present proposals, manage objections, and secure signed retainers or contracts. This is a client-facing showroom sales role. The right candidate must be comfortable selling, presenting, following up, asking strong discovery questions, and helping homeowners make confident decisions. Cabinetry, kitchen/bath, remodeling, construction, or design-sales experience is necessary. This is not an entry-level design position. This is also not a remote role. Compensation This is a sales-driven position with a combination of base pay and performance-based commission/bonus opportunity. Candidates should be comfortable working in a role where success is measured by lead follow-up, client presentations, conversion rate, signed retainers/contracts, and closed sales. Applicants looking for a design-only role with no sales or closing responsibility may not be the right fit for this position. What You'll Do As a Cabinetry Sales Designer, you will: Own the sales process from lead intake through signed contract. Conduct discovery meetings with homeowners to understand scope, layout, style, budget, appliances, fixtures, timelines, and project expectations. Review architectural plans, measurements, elevations, design specifications, and project details. Help guide cabinetry layout, design direction, selections, materials, finishes, hardware, and functional needs. Prepare and present design concepts, estimates, proposals, financing information, retainers, and contract packets. Manage objections, answer client questions, and guide clients toward approval. Maintain consistent follow-up with active leads and open opportunities. Coordinate with the design, estimating, and production teams to ensure accurate handoffs. Review layouts, quote sheets, and estimates for scope alignment before client presentations. Document client conversations, decisions, selections, approvals, and next steps in the CRM/project management system. Help prevent scope gaps, missed details, and misunderstandings before a project moves into production. Required Qualifications To be considered, you should have: 3+ years of consultative sales experience in cabinetry, kitchen and bath, remodeling, construction, interior design sales, home improvement, or a closely related field. Proven ability to sell projects, manage objections, follow up, and close clients. Ability to understand cabinetry layouts, kitchen/bath design concepts, space planning, or construction/remodeling scopes. Ability to read or interpret plans, elevations, measurements, or design specifications. Strong presentation and communication skills. Strong organization and follow-through. Comfort managing multiple clients and sales opportunities at the same time. Experience using a CRM, project management system, or similar software. Ability to work in person from the showroom and attend client/job-site visits when needed. Preferred Qualifications The strongest candidates will have: Custom cabinetry sales experience. Kitchen and bath design experience. Experience selling remodeling, countertops, flooring, closets, millwork, or high-ticket home improvement projects. Knowledge of cabinet construction, finishes, door styles, hardware, accessories, countertops, appliances, and installation considerations. Experience with Buildertrend or similar construction/project management software. Experience working with designers, estimators, project coordinators, installers, or production teams. A track record of strong conversion rates, high client satisfaction, and consistent follow-up. Experience with design software or reviewing design drawings. Who This Role Is Best For This role is a strong fit for someone who: Knows how to sell without being pushy. Can confidently ask about budget, timeline, decision-making, and project priorities. Understands that good design starts with good discovery. Can explain cabinetry and remodeling details in a way clients understand. Is detail-oriented enough to prevent downstream mistakes. Follows up consistently and keeps the pipeline moving. Is comfortable being measured by conversion, client experience, and sales performance. Who Should Not Apply This role is probably not a good fit if: You are looking for a remote design job. You only want to create drawings and do not want to sell. You are uncomfortable asking clients about budget or closing decisions. You have no experience with cabinetry, kitchens, baths, remodeling, construction, or home improvement sales. You do not like follow-up, CRM notes, documentation, or structured processes. You are looking for an entry-level position with no sales expectations. Application Requirement To be considered, please include a resume that clearly shows your experience in sales, cabinetry, kitchen/bath design, remodeling, construction, or home improvement . Applicants who do not show relevant sales or cabinetry/design-related experience may not be selected for an interview.
