Our work focuses on thoughtful, story-driven homes that feel timeless, layered, and personal to the people who live in them. We are a collaborative studio that values strong design thinking, attention to detail, and a process that supports both creativity and execution. Position Overview We are looking for a Junior Interior Designer with 3-5 years of professional experience to support our design team across multiple residential projects. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both the creative and technical sides of design developing concepts, producing drawings, sourcing materials, and helping move projects from concept through installation. The right candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and confident preparing drawings and documentation that help projects move forward smoothly. Responsibilities Assist with the development of design concepts, mood boards, and client presentations Create and maintain design drawings including floor plans, elevations, and models Build and update project models using SketchUp or similar software Research and source furniture, finishes, fabrics, lighting, and materials Prepare specifications and design documentation Assist with space planning and furniture layouts Support preparation for client meetings and design presentations Coordinate with vendors and showrooms for samples and product information Attend site visits and assist during installation days Maintain the studio sample library and support overall project organization Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related field 3-5 years of professional interior design experience Strong drawing and technical documentation skills Proficiency in SketchUp and AutoCAD Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) Understanding of residential design principles, materials, and space planning Highly organized with strong attention to detail Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a studio environment Portfolio demonstrating residential design work and technical drawings required Location Candidates must be local to the North Shore / Chicago area and available for regular in-office collaboration.
Compensation Salary range:
