In this role, you will act as the creative catalyst and design expert within our store, managing the full residential design process from initial consultation to final delivery. You will collaborate closely with our sales and merchandising teams, use cutting-edge 3D room planning technology, and build lasting relationships with clients by creating beautiful, functional spaces tailored to their lifestyles.

Primary Responsibilities Client Consultation & Space Planning In-Home Consultations:

Partner with Sales Consultants to conduct in-home client visits, accurately measuring spaces, gathering technical details, and understanding the client's lifestyle needs. 3

D Room Modeling:

Utilize La-Z-Boy's proprietary 3D Room Planner tool to develop comprehensive, custom, and functional floor plans and layout solutions.

Design Presentation:

Act as the lead designer in crafting compelling visual presentations and pitching design proposals directly to clients in-store.

Collaboration & Business Development In-Store Partnering:

Work active floor shifts alongside the sales team to proactively identify, qualify, and engage potential design clients.

Merchandising Alignment:

Collaborate with the merchandising team to maintain, refresh, and update gallery displays to reflect current design trends.

Relationship Management:

Foster and maintain strong rapport with repeat clientele to drive brand loyalty and referral business.

Leadership & Project Execution Delivery Supervision:

Attend qualifying design deliveries to ensure flawless execution, placement, and ultimate client satisfaction.

Team Training:

Lead interior design training and mentorship sessions for store staff to elevate the team's overall design literacy and sales confidence.

Job Requirements Education & Experience Required:

Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a closely related design field. A strong portfolio demonstrating proficiency in space planning, color theory, and fabric selection.

Skills & Competencies Design Accumen:

Creative, inspirational thinker with a deep passion for residential interior design and home furnishings.

Communication:

Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to easily build rapport with both clients and internal sales teams.

Project Management:

Goal-oriented and deadline-driven with the ability to manage multiple client projects simultaneously.

Problem-Solving:

Highly analytical and solution-oriented when managing spatial challenges or client preferences.

Pay:

$45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
