This role will initially provide maternity leave coverage for our Lead Designer while working closely with the Principal Designer on high-end residential renovation and furnishing projects throughout Cape Cod and Greater Boston. The ideal candidate will possess strong design and project management skills and be comfortable supporting all phases of the design process, from initial site measurements and concept development through construction, installation, and project completion. This position offers the opportunity to become immersed in a boutique design studio known for thoughtful, timeless interiors and collaborative client relationships. Depending on business needs and candidate fit, there may be an opportunity for an ongoing role beyond the initial coverage period. Responsibilities Assist the Principal Designer with all phases of residential design projects Conduct field measurements and document existing conditions accurately Create floor plans, elevations, and design presentations using SketchUp Attend client meetings, site visits, and contractor meetings Schedule and coordinate site visits, vendor appointments, and client meetings Source furnishings, materials, finishes, plumbing fixtures, lighting, and accessories Obtain vendor pricing and prepare proposals and specifications Process, track, and manage product orders Monitor order statuses and proactively communicate updates Maintain project schedules, specifications, and design documentation Coordinate with vendors, contractors, workrooms, and installers Assist with installations and project styling as needed Ensure projects remain organized, on schedule, and moving forward efficiently Qualifications 3+ years of residential interior design experience preferred Strong proficiency in SketchUp required Ability to independently measure residential spaces and accurately document existing conditions Experience preparing floor plans, elevations, and design presentations Experience sourcing furnishings, materials, and finishes Knowledge of residential construction and renovation processes preferred Experience with Studio Designer software is a plus Strong organizational and project management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously Detail-oriented, proactive, resourceful, and collaborative Professional demeanor and comfort working directly with clients, vendors, and contractors Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to project sites throughout Greater Boston and Cape Cod as needed
