Job Description

Kitchen & Bath Design Support Marling Lumber Company and HomeWorks, established in 1904, is a trusted provider of building materials and design solutions for remodeling and new construction. We are seeking a Kitchen & Bath Design Support team member to support our Design Consultants with customer projects, product selections, estimates, and project coordination for residential and commercial jobs.

This role is ideal for someone with a passion for design who is interested in developing skills in kitchen and bath design. The Design Support role works closely with experienced Design Consultants to help prepare layouts, quotes, and presentations while delivering a high level of customer service. The ideal candidate is organized, detail‑oriented, customer‑focused, and eager to learn in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Support Design Consultants with retail and contractor customer projects Assist with gathering project information, including measurements, design preferences, and budget considerations Help develop kitchen and bath layouts using the 20/20 Design Program Support the preparation of estimates, quotes, and design documentation Assist customers with cabinetry, finishes, colors, and product selections under the guidance of a Design Consultant Maintain organized design files, quotes, and customer records Coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate ordering and smooth project flow Build familiarity with cabinet lines, materials, and current design trends Provide consistent, professional customer service throughout the design process Qualifications Degree coursework in Interior Design, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field or equivalent experience Previous experience in design support, customer service, sales, or construction‑related roles preferred Familiarity with the 20/20 Design Program is a plus Ability to read blueprints and perform material take‑offs is a plus Knowledge of kitchen and bath products preferred Strong communication skills (verbal and written) Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Positive, professional, and customer‑focused attitude Willingness to learn and grow within the role Work Expectations Reliability, professionalism, and follow‑through are essential Ability to manage multiple tasks and support multiple projects at once Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work collaboratively with Design Consultants and internal teams Performance is measured by accuracy, responsiveness, teamwork, and customer satisfaction Benefits 401(k) + match Health, dental, and vision insurance
