Job Description

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Make a difference in the lives of K-12 students by providing expert support as a Sign Language Interpreter. In this contract position near Soldotna, AK, you'll play a crucial role in enhancing classroom communication and accessibility for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Your expertise will help bridge language barriers, ensuring every student has equal access to educational opportunities. To excel in this role, you'll need: Proficiency as a Sign Language Interpreter in school settings Valid AK EIPA Score Current and appropriate credentials/certifications Experience supporting students across K-12 age groups Strong communication and interpersonal skills Flexibility to work with a varying caseload Your responsibilities will include: Delivering interpretation services for students in both classroom and individual settings Facilitating clear two-way communication between students, teachers, and support staff Adapting interpreting methods to suit diverse learning needs and situations Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times Collaborating with educators to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment Accurately documenting and reporting on student progress and needs Enjoy a robust benefits package as part of your assignment, including highly competitive compensation, weekly pay, comprehensive insurance (medical, dental, vision, life), matching 401k, and access to flexible spending accounts.
