Northern California Locations:
Multiple K-12 School in
Lodi & Stockton, California Schedule:
Monday-Friday, Full-Time (40 hours)

Role:
We are seeking skilled and committed American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreters to support communication access for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students in K-12 educational settings. In this role, you will facilitate clear, accurate communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers to promote academic success and an inclusive learning environment. This position plays a vital part in ensuring every student has equitable access to instruction and school activities.
Responsibilities:
  • Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school events using American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Support communication between Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing students and school personnel
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards
  • Adjust interpretation style to match student needs and instructional context
  • Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to promote student success
  • Accurately document services according to district requirements
Minimum Requirements:
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Interpreting, Deaf Studies, or a related field (preferred)
  • State Board of Education Initial Sign Language Interpreter Certificate (as applicable)
  • EIPA certification as required by state regulation or client request
  • RID certification as applicable per state or contract requirements
  • Compliance with all professional standards of practice
  • Current CPR certification (if applicable)
  • TB questionnaire, PPD test, or chest X-ray (as required)
  • Current health certificate per state/contract requirements
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local regulations
